According to the two organisations, their partnership is aimed at identifying new talent in Africa’s animation industry.

Speaking about the partnership, Rosalind Murphy from Netflix said they are very excited.

“We’re excited about joining the Cape Town International Animation Film Festival as part of our ongoing efforts to create a stronger connection with Africa’s creative industries, especially looking forward to participating in the festival’s virtual programme and meeting South Africa’s incredibly talented animation artists,” she said.

The streaming platform will also present online lounges for portfolio reviews, local animators and other creatives who will have the opportunity to engage directly with talent recruiters from the platform.
