WHEN Vhudi Mamphwe auditioned for Idols SA, he left the judges in awe with his catchy Venda songMy Yoki Yoki.
Although he was eliminated from the show two weeks ago, he has been going from strength to strength.
Immediately after his exit, he started recording his song and he recently posted a picture of himself in the studio on social media.
He wrote on Twitter: “What a beautiful day recording my upcoming single #MyYokiYoki. This was my first time in the studio. Thank you, Jesus and everyone who is working on this with me.”
Vhudi told Daily Sun appearing on Idols was amazing.
“I’m so glad it gave me a chance to show off what I have and I really appreciate that,” he said.
Vhudi said he appreciated the love and support the nation had shown him.
“The love I receive from fans is massive. Sometimes I feel like crying. I see God through their love and it’s really amazing. I appreciate their support,” he said.
Vhudi said being in the studio made him feel like a superstar.
He said he didn’t have a record deal and was currently working as an independent artist. He has been recording at producer Kissbeat’s studio.
“For now, people must expect three or four singles and from there an album will follow,” he said.
Vhudi said his song was available on Spotify, iTunes and YouTube Music.
