KWAITO star Mshoza is the face of a locally crafted gin!
GINseng, which has taken Vanderbijlpark in the south of Joburg by storm, is the brainchild of Kamohelo Dibate and Katlheho Liesetso.
Speaking to Daily Sun Mshoza, whose real name is Nomasonto Maswanganyi, said she agreed to become involved with the brand as it’s black owned.
“I’m all about work and they understand that. I also believe in giving back to those who work hard. That’s why I didn’t hesitate to join them as an ambassador.
“I know how it feels to be rejected when the only thing you want is to be given a chance to blossom,” said Mshoza.
“But when you rise, people want to be around you.”
The gin was introduced almost three months ago. It has a bit of cinnamon and orange.
Mshoza said: “It is very nice and classy. However, people should enjoy it responsibly.”
The brand’s head of marketing, Nathan Booysen, said they chose Mshoza as they admire her work.
“We’re big lovers of gin and we decided it was the right time to start our own.
“It’s a stressful market to tap into, but we see it as a challenge. The feedback has been impressive. People love the taste and that it’s tasty even when it’s not mixed.”
The date of the official launch is yet to be announced. But the gin is mostly available in retail outlets in the Vaal for R349.
