MUSIC lovers, we’ve got just the thing for you!
The annual Moshito Music Conference and Exhibition is back.
The popular conference aimed at teaching people about the music business takes place this week at the Joburg Theatre.
The theme this year is the rebirth of African music business, which looks at reshaping music after the Covid-19 pandemic.
There will be a variety of speakers, ranging from artists and industry leaders to entrepreneurs, technology pioneers, digital influencers and journalists into a continental discussion of our sector.
Speaking to SunBuzz, Moshito chairman Stanley Khoza said they were proud of how far they have come as an organisation.
“Although it was not easy, it has been a great journey and I am proud of the platform we have created that allows the people in the music industry to share and impart knowledge to one another.”

Mahotella Queens and Big Zulu have been announced as this year’s ambassadors of the conference, taking over the reins from Makhadzi and Advocate Steve Kekana.
Stanley said they chose them because of their artistic calibre.
“They are a perfect fit of what we stand for. They promote proudly South African music, its culture and diversity and those are things that help us carry social cohesion and that cannot go uncelebrated,” he said.
The music boss shared with SunBuzz that people could expect fireworks this year. “There will be amazing performances and an array of speakers from various sectors in the music industry who will touch on the reimagination of the music industry post Covid-19, while exchanging knowledge and experiences.
“It is going to be a blast,” he said.
According to Stanley, they are going to give aspiring musicians an opportunity to perform or showcase on various stages, giving them a platform that creates and helps artists to achieve international opportunities and recognition.
The 18th edition of the Moshito Music Conference and Exhibition will be taking place from 8-11 December at Lesedi Theatre at the Joburg Theatre.
