BHEKI Langa rubbished claims that he has mistreated his first fiancee Makhosazane Shelembe.
Mzansi was in shock following Tuesday’s episode of Mnakwethu with many accusing Bheki (36) and second fiancee Hlengiwe Sithole (31) of humiliating Makhosazane (31).
Bheki, from Nquthu in KZN, told Daily Sun: “I met Hlengiwe two years ago. I needed someone who was a hard worker and financially stable. I decided to pay lobola for her because she met all the requirements.
“I know people think she gave me a love potion and is controlling me but that’s not the case. I am currently unemployed and survive on piece jobs. At the moment, Hlengiwe is the one taking care of us.”
Bheki said Hlengiwe had a business selling things like detergents and chickens. He said he used to have taxis but they got repossessed.
He said Makhosazane ran a spaza shop but it was not doing well due to the lockdown.
“I know Makhosazane is complaining that I spend too much time with Hlengiwe but it is because our love is new. I know I’ve hurt Makhosazane but I’m willing to make it up to her.”

Bheki said people must not judge Hlengiwe.
He said everything had gone back to normal with Makhosazane. “Her only issue is that I paid lobola for Hlengiwe behind her back but she has accepted her.”
Hlengiwe said she needed to stand her ground. “I don’t mind being the second wife as long as I get respect from the other wife,” she said.
But celebrity polygamist Musa Mseleku said Bheki shouldn’t have proposed to Hlengiwe. “She is a troublesome woman. It’s now nearly impossible for him to leave her because she knows his weaknesses and is capitalising on them,” he said.
Mnakwethu producer Lucky Khowa said he didn’t know how bad it would get in the episode. “Had we known, we would have avoided humiliating Makhosazane. But people will see Bheki and his wives again at the reunion.”
Speaking to Daily Sun, Makhosazane denied things were fine between her and Bheki.
“I love Bheki but I am ready to leave him with his new fiancee. I am currently seven months pregnant with his baby but he still disregards me,” she said.
Cultural expert Nomagugu Ngobese said Bheki had failed Makhosazane. “Culturally, he cannot pay lobola for a woman while another lobola process is in progress.”
