METRO FM'S OWEN ALMOST HIJACKED

Sports presenter and radio personality Owen Hannie has survived an attempted hijacking.

The Metro FM breakfast show sportscaster recently took to Twitter and shared that him and his family was almost hijacked last night in Bryanston.

Owen said the incident happened at the corner of William Nicole & Main around 17:45 in the evening.

“Two guys approached our car with a gun,” he said.

The media personality further said he was fortunate enough that there was some police presence when the incident happened.

”Fortunately there was a police officer a few cars behind us. The officer fired two shots at the criminals. 

“Unfortunately, the cop crashed his car into a truck at the intersection while trying to assist us. But in our state of shock we hastily left the scene before we could pay our gratitude to the officer,” he said.

The grateful media personality has thanked the police officer for his bravery.

“Please can you help me track down this officer? He was our guardian angel tonight and he definitely came to our rescue.”
