DJ SHIMZA is being dragged again.

This time, it’s Mzansi’s popular producer/artist DJ Maphorisa.

This comes after he called out the Tembisa DJ for not opening the industry. He asked why he’s always working alone and not featuring up-and-coming artists to uplift them.

But Shimza told Maphorisa he has opened doors for upcoming artists and that’s what his label Kunye Records was for.

Even when Shimza tried to explain how he’s uplifting artists and opens doors for them, people were just happy to hear Phori calling him out for this.

Their conversation moved to DMs, where Shimza said how hurt he was that Phori called him out in public and told him how he’s also noticed he’s has been avoiding his texts and calls.

Maphorisa said he’s been watching him do this for a long time and he couldn’t stand it.

Tweeps also reminded Shimza how he closed doors for DJ Ceega last year when the DJ asked Shimza for help.

“Shimza tried to close doors for Ceega Wa Meropa last year, thinking being rude to him was good. This isn’t something new, Phori told him the truth,” said Ori debig.

Chris Excel also reminded Shimza about what he said when he was asked to feature more up-and-coming DJs on his Lockdown House Party, instead of established DJs.

“His reponse was ‘This is not a talent show’,” said Chris.

People are also asking Shimza to take Maphorisa’s advice and start opening doors for others and not take it as an attack.

Said Thokozani: “I think there are more than 10 artists that we know who were helped by Phori. All those artists have big hits, they get booked for gigs and so on. Shimza can’t even name five young up-and-coming artists that he has helped to grow.”
