CONGRATULATIONS are in order for Makhadzi.
She won the Best Artist, Duo or Group Award in the African Electro category at the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), held in Lagos, Nigeria on Sunday, 21 November.
The news was announced by All Africa Music Awards.
Makhadzi’s recording label Open Mic Productions also announced the news on Twitter.
It wrote: “Help us congratulate the African Queen @MakhadziSA under this tweet for winning the Best Artist, Duo or Group in the African Electro category. Congratulations Makhadzi.”

Makhadzi also hinted on her Facebook page that she has good news.
“Are you up? I have good news,” she wrote.
The posts saw thousands of her colleagues, friends and followers congratulating her. Twitter user Collen wrote: “Congratulations to my personal friend Makhadzi for winning an Afrima. I love it when I see celebs like me winning... let’s also refrain from saying Makhadzi won an award in Africa as if South Africa is not part of Africa.”
Kuta Matshianeo said: “Congratulations, Queen Makhadzi. You don’t talk too much. Your work speaks for you. You don’t entertain Twitter trolls. You kill them with success. So inspiring.”
Ntsako Sharone said: “It was not easy for Makhadzi but because she stayed true and knew what she wanted, nothing will ever stand in her way #Makhadzi #AfricanQueen.”
