ACTRESS Lindiwe Ndlovu has died.

The sudden death of the 44-year-old, known for playing Patjutju on Uzalo and Sponono on Zabalaza, was announced by her agency on Monday.

At the time of her death, she had just joined the cast of BET Africa’s Isono.

Her agent Lynne Higgins said she died at home on Monday morning.

“I am devastated. She was an amazing and special person. I’m going to miss her a lot, especially her big, contagious smile and the hugs she always gave me,” she said.

“Working with her was awesome. She was organised and well prepared for any role she was given. I never received any complaints about her and that shows how dedicated she was to her work.”

Lindiwe also played the role of Sharon on Lockdown. The show’s executive producer Mandla N said he was shocked when he heard the news.

“She was very involved in the arts and very bubbly. She would light up a room with her jokes and make us laugh all the time. I was really looking forward to working with her again. I will always cherish all the laughs and smiles we shared.”

Actress Dawn Thandeka King said she felt numb when she heard the news.

“Her passing doesn’t make any sense to me. I am deeply sorry for her family’s loss and I will keep them in my prayers,” she said.

“She was a very professional person and when I worked with her, I had no problems. She was always that person you could talk to and she’d give you strength and comfort.”

Baby Cele, who worked with Lindiwe on Zabalaza, said she was devastated.

“I will miss her dearly as we grew close over the years,” she said.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Lindiwe’s brother, Dumisani Ndlovu, said they were heartbroken.

“We are very saddened by her passing. It was a shock because she was okay,” he said.

“She was very loving and a warm person who was down to earth. She would always relate to people and when’s she was around people she would not behave like a superstar that she was. I loved how she would speak her mind now and then but only when she needed to.

“Before she died, she was on Gomora.

“We don’t know the cause of her death,” said Dumisani.

“We are still arranging her funeral. She will be buried back home in KZN. We will share the funeral details soon.”
