COPS are investigating after actress Letoya Makhene was allegedly sexually harassed by men, who then attacked her wife, Lebo Keswa.
Letoya, who plays Tshidi on Generations: The Legacy, opened a case last month after an incident at a bakery in Midrand, Joburg.
Lebo told Daily Sun: “My wife and I got to a friend’s birthday at the bakery.
“This owner called me to the side and said she had always had a crush on me but I brushed it off. My friends and I continued drinking and she came to me again and asked if we were open to an orgy with her and her husband.
“I started feeling uncomfortable.”
Letoya said the owner then came to her and said she had read articles saying they were broke.
“She asked why I was with a broke lesbian when I could be with a rich man. She promised to hook me up with rich men.”
She said a while later, three men came into the bakery.
“As they were sitting, the owner came to me and pointed at them, saying they were the ones she told me about.
“One of them came to me and started touching me inappropriately,” Letoya said.
“He started touching my thighs and went up to my private parts. That’s when I stood up and my wife came and spoke to him.
“He disrespected her, saying she was a woman and wouldn’t do anything.
“The man and his friends started attacking my wife physically.”
Letoya said Lebo was arrested and spent the night in jail but nothing happened to the men.
“I opened a case of sexual assault at Midrand SAPS and my wife opened an assault case after she was released,” she said.
The day after the incident, the bakery owner claimed on Facebook Lebo vandalised her store.
Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo said a case of sexual assault and one of assault are being investigated.
