SCATHAMIYA group Ladysmith Black Mambazo resumed their empowering programmes to nurture other artists, which were suspended due to the national lockdown.

They have started to record collaborations with groups they discovered through their academy, Ladysmith Black Mambazo Mobile Academy, in their recording studio in Durban last week.

They are still looking for more groups to groom and from today, 20 June to 3 July, they are on tour looking for them in different provinces.

Their tour started in Kimberley, and will move to Bloemfontein, Limpopo, North West and Cape Town where they will have seminars, master classes and group selection by the panel of judges.

Ladysmith Black Mambazo manager Xolani Majozi told Daily Sun they are back helping up-and-coming artists.

“Last week we started collaborations with the mobile academy artists at our studios called United Rhythm Studios in Durban. We followed by having a seminar with the a capella women’s group we discovered called Afrika Mamas.

“We also recorded a music video of Afrika Mamasand had a seminar with our discovered scathamiya group called Nongoma Abafana Bentuthuko and also recorded their music video,” he said.

He said that from Sunday they are in Kimberley where they will have a studio recording with Eternal Gospel Group while they will also have the seminar with Meduduetsane Basadi the following day.
