ACTOR and kwaito star Siphamandla Ngema is ready to make entertainment lovers dance this festive season.
Siphamandla, who is known as Singil in the entertainment circle and for his long single braid as his trademark, said that he is cooking a hot album.
“But for now I have just released a few singles to keep music audiences entertained. Some of my tracks have started to gain airplay on radio stations,” he said.
Siphamandla, from Mnambithi in the north of KZN, is also known as a member of the kwaito duo Shakes no Singil which ventured to the industry more than a decade ago.
Although they has been making music since 2009, it looks like it has been difficult for them to gain public recognition.

However, during difficult times, the duo managed to start their own recording label called Galawela Productions, which is operating from Richards Bay in northern KZN.
Now, Sphamandla has decided to go solo.
“Not being highly recognised by the music world is not the reason why I decided to go solo. My brother Shakes and I agreed to work on our solo projects. And we are still going to engage ourselves in the group project, but for now, we are preoccupied with our solo projects,” said Siphamandla.
He said during the upcoming festive season, music fans will be kept busy with tracks such as Mama, Babize and Udliwayinumi, while awaiting the full album, due for release in January.
Siphamandla said he has worked with Ndumiso Mtshali of Blaq Diamond.
In his acting career, he appeared on Generations: The Legacy as a music producer.
“I am currently working on a project with S’dumo Mtshali and Ayanda Sithebe,” said Siphamandla.
