TV PRESENTER and actress Nomakula “Kuli” Roberts has revealed what is next on her plate after her short-lived political career.
The media personality, who is part of Netflix’s new movie Angelina, has revealed that she now wants to be a DJ.
Angelina follows a story of a homeless former parking attendant who is diagnosed with a fatal disease, and dares to put her lifelong dream of travelling the world in motion.
Briefly speaking about the film, Kuli said it was a great experience portraying the character of Tina.
“Being from Cape Town, it was an honour being part of this film. When I was approached for the role, I couldn’t believe I would be acting alongside great thespians. I am humbled to be part of Angelina,” she said.

Speaking about her prospects of being a DJ, Kuli said she wanted to revive Mzansi’s hip hop.
“Ntando Duma is going to teach me how to DJ. She was taught by DJ Zinhle, who was also supposed to teach me but I was too busy at the time. This is something that I’ve been wanting to do and now that my kids are out of the house living their own lives, I have time on my hands. I also need to start living, and I’m certain I would do great as a DJ,” she said.
A few weeks ago, Kuli was running as the candidate councillor for ward 65 in Tshwane, but the ATM party released a statement a few days later to say it had decided to drop her.
“Due to unforeseen and confidential circumstances, it is no longer possible to have Kuli as a member and ward councillor of the African Transformation Movement. She had to step down both as a member and ward councillor candidate of ATM,” the statement read.
