SASSY entertainer Kuli Roberts has joined Mzansi Magic’s The Queen!
She will play the role of Mildred Sefatsa, a 41-year-old sugar mama and Instagram queen.
Kuli (47) told Daily Sun she thought she was dreaming when she was asked to play Mildred.
“I did not audition for the role. I was approached to come on board and I was overwhelmed because this is a high-end production,” she said.
She said her character will add a new twist to the show.
“She’s alive and is a people’s person.
“She is very blessed but selfish at the same time,” she said.
Kuli said she could relate to some parts of Mildred.
“I can definitely relate to the fact that she is a philanthropist, but other than that, she is wild and feels nothing. That is not me,” she said.
This will be Kuli’s first appearance in a telenovela in five years and she said being back on screen was challenging but fun.
Kuli said she had begun shooting and the cast and production team has been supportive.
“Gratefully, I know a lot of the cast members. It is like being home,” she said.
The Queen’s executive producers Connie and Shona Ferguson said they were thrilled to have Kuli among them.
“We look forward to her breathing life into Mildred. We know she will delight audiences and keep them entertained.
“Kuli is an entertainer who is always willing to push boundaries.
“We can’t wait to see her in this role,” they said.
Kuli will make her debut on The Queen in July.
