Supa Dupa Summa is not just an event but a mood for summer.
The album launch party by rapper KO promises to get people in the mood for the festive season.
The event happening on 27 September at Zone 6 Venue will celebrate the release of KO’s 3rd album, titled PTY UnLtd.
According to the rapper, the show is going to be like nothing anyone’s ever seen before.
Only those who will be there on the night will experience this amazing production.
He said they put in so much work into rearranging the venue so that it can complement the feel and energy for the day.
The rapper (real name Ntokozo Mdluli) said he named his album PTY UnLtd mainly because he’s at a point where he is business-oriented.
With hit songs like Supa Dupa and Say You Will (featuring Nandi Madida), the album is set to have hits that will have everyone jamming to.
“It is not just about music anymore but my mindset has shifted to taking this as a business. If you listen to the album, it is a bunch of hit songs put together as a body of work. There’s no way that you will skip a song. It’s 13-track album with a songlist that will all end up playing on the radio.” If you listen to the previous two albums, some songs were not radio-friendly.”
He said Supa Dupa Summa was not only focused on him and his performance but a mood that everyone is tapping into since it’s the hot season.
“This event is aimed at celebrating black people and how we work hard for our communities, uplifting ourselves and others. That is why it couldn’t just be me performing. I had to bring people who identify with the vision of creating change.”That is why we went all out it ensuring that we have the most creative production.”
The rapper said partygoers should expect high energy performances and a whole new feel.
“I will perform some of the new music, the old catalogue and I might bring out MaE to do some of our Teargas music.”
The line-up includes Simmy, Tshego, DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small and DJ Speedsta.
He said these are artists that are currently redefining the music culture and putting in hard work.
