MEDIA personality Jub Jub plans to take legal action against Amanda Du Pont, Masechaba Khumalo, Refilwe Khumalo and Bonokuhle Nkala.

This is after the first three women claimed that Jub Jub, whose real name is Molemo Maarohanye, raped them and that Bonokuhle was a witness of him abusing Amanda.

On Wednesday, 1 December, his interview on TV show, Podcast and Chill was broadcast, where he said he dated Skeem Saam actress Amanda.

On Thursday, 2 December, she released a video claiming Jub Jub raped her for two years and accused him of physical abuse.

Since then, more women have come forward to claim they were also raped by the Uyajola 9/9 presenter.

His family released a statement, with spokesman Andile Ngcobo saying: “Momelo our son and his management team would not leave the claims unattended and have since taken a decision to serve Amanda Du Pont, Ms Masechaba Khumalo, Refilwe Khumalo and Bonokuhle Nkala with letters of demands with instructions that they should retract the unfounded allegations against him, and ultimately apologise for their claims. Failure to adhere to the instructions will see our son, who like any SA citizen whose constitutional rights has been infringed, go the legal route to clear his name.

“He will be opening a case against Amanda, Masechaba, Bonokuhle, and Refilwe, who have been pulled to campaign against our son by Amanda on her social media page. Their claims have damaged our son’s reputation, and infringed his rights to privacy and dignity.”

They said Jub Jub wasn’t being malicious when he spoke about Amanda on Podcast and Chill.

“First, it must be noted his statements confirming intimate details about his romantic relationship with her in society was never meant to embarrass nor shame Amanda, but part of him owning up to his past, including his relationships, which he can’t change or deny.”

Andile said: “However, the musician and TV reality show presenter has been gobsmacked by claims which have gone viral on social media claiming our son has sexually and physically abused Amanda during their romantic relationship. These heavy allegations are false and fake. As a family we met Amanda when our son introduced her to us. We accepted her as one of our own. Amanda also introduced our son to her father. During their relationship they had mutual respect and understanding, love and support”.

They also addressed Sport, Arts and Culture spokeswoman Masechaba Khumalo’s accusations.

“In as far as Ms Khumalo’s allegations are concerned, our son has never had any romantic relationship with her. Instead, what we know is she was pursuing our son and he turned her down,” they said.

During an interview with SABC, lawyer Tony Mathe said Amanda was fine, regardless of what was happening.

“Amanda is in high spirits, and she is prepared to take this matter forward and have the perpetrator accounted for what he has done to violate her in the past.”

Tony said she would soon open a case, with the main charge being rape.

“We cannot give a specific date at this time.”

He said they had been approached by three more women with the same accusations against Jub Jub, and they might represent them too.
