AWARD-WINNING actor and playwright John Kani has received his second dose of the coronavirus jab.

The internationally-acclaimed actor, who has been part of productions such as Black Panther, took to social media to share the good news.

He said although he’s vaccinated and protected against the deadly virus that has claimed the lives of many and currently in the third wave, he will still comply with the regulations.

“Done my second Pfizer jab this morning. One small jab on my arm and I am part of the effort to save my people. Now I am going to continue to comply with Covid-19 restrictions – social distancing, wearing my mask and washing my hands regularly,” he said.

John has joined the long list of celebrities who have received the jab.

Earlier this year veteran talk show host Felicia Mabuza-Suttle, who is currently based in the United States of America, opened up about receiving the jab.

She also urged everyone to get vaccinated.

“I urge everyone, family, friends, followers and fans to please get your jab when it is your turn,” she said.

“I hear the vaccines are now being administered in South Africa. Had mine and I’m feeling cautiously invincible. Ready to venture out, still masked up.”

Maskandi star Ntencane also received the jab and urged people to listen to government and take the jab so their lives can go back to normal.

“Even in the Bible, the people who survived were those who made it into Noah’s ark. So people must take the vaccination and be safe from this killer virus.”

He said people needed to see what was happening in the countries where citizens had been vaccinated.

“Most activities have been opened. They even go to stadiums and enjoy soccer. We must also play our part in fighting this virus,” said Ntencane.
