AMAPIANO duo JazziDisciples have broken the hearts of music lovers.

The Sgubu Se Monati singers have announced their split shortly after releasing their biggest hit, Zlele.

The duo from Alexandra, Joburg, is made up of Josiah De Disciple and JazziQ and they’ve been making music for three years.

Josiah announced the split on Instagram.

He told Daily Sun he didn’t want to get into the details.

“This is a happy split. JazziQ understands why I left and he’s cool with it. There were no fights,” he said.

Josiah said he’d focus on his solo career.

“I’ll release my first solo project with Buhle next month, Umbuso Wabamnyama.”

JazziQ’s manager, Samora “Havoc” Khumalo, said JazziQ didn’t want to comment.

“I think it’s best you stick to the statement released on Instagram about the split because JazziQ won’t comment,” said Havoc.

The news sent their fans into a frenzy.

Twitter user Thando Dube wrote: “Jazzidisciples really think they can give us bangers and then split??”

Twitter user Lerato N even started a petition asking the duo to reunite.

Josiah said he wasn’t aware of the petition but it wouldn’t change anything.
