JACKIE Phamotse has pledged her support for Somizi Mhlongo’s estranged husband Mohale Motaung.
The writer said she would support him to get justice, as well as what he deserved.
She told Daily Sun she empathised with Mohale because she, too, was in an abusive relationship with an older man.
“I also dated someone older than me who was influential and rich, which is why I started writing. I know exactly what Mohale is going through.”
Jackie said she was proud of him for leaving while still alive as not many people in similar situations did.
“I’m proud of Mohale for leaving while still breathing. Even though Somizi hasn’t spoken to give his side of the story, we cannot ignore what Mohale is saying.”
Jackie made reference to parts of the recording in which Mohale alleged that while in Amsterdam, Somizi wanted a threesome.
“What happened there was sexual slavery because he did this knowing they were in a foreign country. There are a lot of people who go overseas with their partners and get stranded. So, I think Mohale may have accepted the idea out of fear,” she said.

According to Jackie, everything Mohale said was the reason he was always introverted whenever the couple made public appearances.
“This explains why he was always introverted, even on the wedding special. He needs emotional support, and some psychologists can help him for free. If he needs legal assistance, there are pro bono and Legal Aid lawyers who can assist.”
She lambasted celebrities who claimed to be activists but had not yet spoken out about the matter.
“Some celebrities claim to be activists for GBV, but have been mum. They are selective activists because they don’t want to talk as they don’t want to taint their brands.
“Some colleagues who work with Somizi and those who are his friends have not said anything because they are afraid of losing whatever they benefit from their relationship with him. I encourage Mohale to file a criminal case,” said Jackie.
But she praised celebrities such as Boity, Amanda Black and Penny Lebyane for taking a stand and speaking out.
