Singer Phumzile Mseleku, better known as Ndoni, says the past few months have been a dream come true.

Since being part of Idols SA season 16 last year, her luck has changed.

Ndoni has since been rubbing shoulders with some of Mzansi’s finest artists such as Oskido, DJ Zinhle, Winnie Khumalo and Nokwazi.

Speaking to SunBuzz, the 23-year-old from Newlands West in KZN said everything she’s done in the past months has felt surreal.

“The past few months felt like a dream because I’ve been sitting in the same spaces with people I used to watch on TV.

“I’d always ask myself when I would get to their level and here I am, having real conversations with them,” she said.

“I’ve realised that when you really want something, it will happen. And that’s the one thing I’d like to say to the youth out there.

“They must never give up on their dreams because dreams come true,” she said.

Ndoni was signed under Kalawa Jazmee and she said she has learnt a lot from the label.

“Being part of Kalawa Jazmee is a big deal for me.

“They have taught us a lot. We have boot camps and there was a time where they bought us great singers like Winnie Khumalo and Nokwazi to advise us and tell us about what to expect from the music industry,” she said.

“I remember the other day I asked Nokwazi how she has stayed this relevant in the industry.

“She told me that I need to be humble and respectful. That has helped me grow.”

She released a single titled Mpinda Mshaye last month.

She said it’s an introduction of herself to people.

“The single is about me and how I see myself musically. I have the likes of Lebo Mathosa, Brenda Fassie, Busi Mhlongo inside of me. I’m basically showing people what kind of a person Ndoni is. the song is available on all digital platforms.”

Ndoni is also working on new music.

“I can’t reveal much, but I’m working with some big musicians. The two people I can reveal are DJ Zinhle and Nokwazi for now,” she said.
