SINGER and songwriter Nosipho Silinda has scored herself an acting gig.
The former Idols SA contestant will be making her acting debut on The Queen, playingthe role of Cici.
Nosipho said: “I was really excited when I was told I got the role because it’s a great opportunity for me to learn and grow in the entertainment industry. It’s always been the plan for me to do more than one thing.”
Nosipho described her character as a go-getter.
“Cici will stop at nothing to get what she wants. I believe that is one thing we have in common. At the same time, parts of her are completely different from who I am, which was interesting to play.
“I can’t wait for people to see I can channel a completely different person.
“I really enjoyed playing her and I’ve bonded with her. I can’t wait for people to see her,” she said.

The KZN-born entertainer told Daily Sun that she was nervous on her first day on set. “This is how I become when I’m trying something new. I really wanted my mum to be there with me but she couldn’t because of Covid-19 protocols. Everyone on set made me feel welcome and that calmed me down,” she said.
Nosipho said she watched a lot of shows on YouTube to prepare for her debut role.
“I went over the script a million times and also practised in front of the mirror. I also watched the show just to get the feel of what exactly I needed to do,” she told the People’s Paper.
On the music front, Nosipho said she was working on an album.
“People can expect fireworks, music that speaks to people. I have stepped out of my comfort zone a bit and I will be introducing a new sound and feel.”
