The highly anticipated release of Happiness Ever After on Netflix has finally arrived.
On Wednesday, 10 November fans of the show across the globe got the first glance of this hard-hitting sequel to Happiness Is A Four Letter Word, which was released in 2016.
It can be streamed live in 190 countries around the globe on the Netflix service.
The first film was adapted from Nozizwe Cynthia Jele’s Happiness is a Four-Letter Word which won the 2011 Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for Best First Book, Africa Region and the M-Net film prize at the 2011 M-Net Literary Awards.
Picking up from the last chapter, this new film follows the bestie girlfriends Zaza and Princess, played by Khanyi Mbau and Renate Stuurman respectively, who are joined by a new friend, yogi and florist Zimkhitha, portrayed by Nambitha Ben-Mazwi.

Guests at the film’s premiere were in awe of the growth of the cast and characters in the sequel.
The return role for Richard Lukunku made for a standout emotionally conflicted performance, along with Yonda Thomas, Loyiso MacDonald and Daniel Effiong who all bring a fresh energy to the film as they each play classic “it’s complicated” love interests to the female leads.
For many, it was the feisty Fakazile, played by the electrifying Xolile Tshabalala, and the sharp verbal exchanges between herself and sister-in-law Zaza, that had the audience talking back to the screen.
Legendary talent Nandi Nyembe, who plays the mother-in-law to Mbau’s character, received a rousing round of applause in clear acknowledgement of her decades of delivering powerful performances.
The film’s production was spearheaded by producer, Blingola Media’s Bongiwe Selane, director Thabang Moleya and scriptwriter Ayanda Halimana.
