Special plaques were presented to those who have made in impact in the gospel music industry.
Soweto TV’s Sisemoyeni and Lesedi FM’s Thuso Motaung were awarded the Trailblazer Award. Pastor Strike Manganyi was given the Humanitarian Award. Trace Gospel received the Sponsorship Acknowledgement Award, while Bishop ND Nhlapo got the Five-Fold Ministries Award, and Hlengiwe Mhlaba the Chairperson’s Award.
COO of the awards, Thabang Mnisi, told Daily Sun:
“The plaques are to honour and acknowledge their contribution in the industry. It’s an honorary award. The Trailblazer Award is not for musicians, but those who have created a platform for musicians,” he said.
“The biggest is the Chairperson’s Award. It looks at musicians who have made a huge impact in the industry and this year, we saw it fit to give it to Hlengiwe Mhlaba.”
