AWARD-winning comedian and radio host, PelePele Mchunu, is excited about his first live show in months.
The Jozi FM presenter will host Covid Comedy, a show that promises to make people forget about life’s many challenges and coronavirus.
The show will be hosted at the Soweto Theatre on 30 and 31 October.
PelePele, who won the Audience Choice Award at the Comics Choice Awards last year, told SunBuzz: “Everyone has been imprisoned in their houses for months.
“They’ve been bored out of their wits. Some have lost jobs. This show seeks to make them laugh. Things are looking good,” he said.
“Although the show is called Covid Comedy, it won’t just be jokes about the pandemic and things that happened around it,” he said.
“It’ll be random jokes, about me, the people in the audience and basically everything and everyone.”

According to PelePele, hosting the show for two days was to accommodate everyone.
“Hosting the show for one day was going to be unfair. Should the first day be sold out, I want other people to also come and laugh on the second day.
“I won’t be telling the same jokes. It’ll be tough, but I’ll try my best not to repeat the same jokes.”
He said there might be surprise acts from other comedians.
“I wanted this to be a one-man show, but as comedians we support each other.
“So I’m sure a few will get on stage to entertain the crowd,” he said.
