ACTOR Andile Nebulane, who is rumoured to be exiting Mzansi’s second most-watched show Generations: The Legacy, has rubbished the claims.

The actor, who plays the role of detective Pele Malinga, said he was not leaving the show anytime soon.

“In fact, my storyline is about to get more exciting. Viewers must watch the space,” he told Daily Sun.

Andile confirmed, however, that he was working on other local and international projects.

“As an actor, I am not married to one show. I am a freelancer and have to work in order to get paid. I am working on another local show, and behind the scenes creating three others,” he said.

Andile, who launched his career professionally overseas before coming back home, shared that the entertainment industry was not easy.

“Coming back home to establish a name for myself locally was difficult. This is because people, whom I thought knew my craft and what I am capable of, still referred to me as a newcomer and wanted to offer me lower rates. That is when I realised that this industry needs you to be strong.”

The former Igazi actor said although many people in the industry needed to work in order to eat, sticking to what you knew best worked well.

“You need to know yourself and your capabilities before you know the industry because it is easy to lose yourself. People tend to want to do everything at once, such as singing or doing comedy, among others. Next thing, brands and people who would like to associate with you shy away because you are all over the place,” he said.

Generations: The Legacy publicist Nandipha Phantsi confirmed that Andile was not leaving the show.

“Detective Malinga is part of the exciting storylines coming up in the new season. Viewers will get to see a different side of the stern detective,” she said.
