FANS of suspended Ukhozi FM DJ Khathide “Tshatha” Ngobe are demanding that he be reinstated.

They’ve threatened to march to the radio station’s offices.

Tshatha’s fans took to social media to express their anger and started a petition they plan to submit to the SABC. The petition, created two weeks ago, has been signed by 6 000 fans so far.

Fan Reginald Sipho Zondo said: “Suspending a person like Khathide is senseless. He’s one of the main reasons Ukhozi is dominant.”

Sphokuhle Biyela said: “I’m singing because I want Tshatha back on radio. Ukhozi is never the same again without him. I no longer tune in.”

Last week, Tshatha begged his fans not to march to the radio station after it came to his attention they were planning to do so.

When contacted, he directed queries to the SABC.

The DJ was suspended in January pending an investigation. He publicly accused Ukhozi FM of being corrupt.

He’s one of the DJs who allegedly met SABC management, complaining about the appointment of Sbongi Ngcobo as Ukhozi FM business manager.
