Ashley Raphala, popularly known as DJ Shimza, is setting new records this year.
The DJ, who is also a music producer, will be the first ever artist to do a live stream from Robben Island.
The Makhe hitmaker has announced that for Mandela Day he will be doing a live stream from the museum which was used as a maximum prison for political prisoners during South Africa's apartheid regime.

DJ Shimza has partnered with the Siya Kolisi Doundation and they are planning to raise R200 000.
All the funds from the live stream will go to those who are negatively affected by Covid-19.
In a statement DJ Shimza said his show on Robben Island is also his way of not admitting defeat to the global Covid pandemic.
“It makes sense for me to do something like this on Robben Island for Mandela Day to raise money for people in Cape Town who have been affected by Covid. It’s my way of saying that we’re not being held ransom by this pandemic,” he said.
The unique and historic live stream will also air on MTV Base South Africa on the 18th July 2020 from 16:00-18:00.
