DJ LeSoul said responding to her ancestral calling has opened doors for her.
The DJ said her art projects are now going well.
“When I found out I have abantu abadala, I was not terrified. I decided to respond and that worked in my favour,” said DJ LeSoul, whose real name is Nonkululeko Mdlalose.
She recently released her house track, Sebenza, which serves as a praise song to her ancestors and encourages music fans to wake up and work hard.

The song is part of other singles that will be included in her EP due to be released in September.
“I can’t reveal more on my ancestral calling because I’m still walking the journey. But people will find out more when the time is right. I’m happy. After responding to the calling, I was appointed as the ambassador for Protea Hotels nationwide. I believe that more great things are still to come,” she said.
The DJ who was born in KwaMashu, north of Durban, said it’s important for everyone to know more about their roots.
“Part of the ancestral calling is about the roots and the importance of knowing more about who you are. This is very important. If you know who you are, at least you will have a direction of where you are going.
“I understand that there are many celebs that have responded to this kind of calling which makes people believe that it’s some kind of lifestyle or fashion. I wish people could understand the struggle and sacrifices that come with a calling. I don’t believe a sane person can just sleep and wake up to lie and say they have the ancestral calling. It goes a long way than that. It’s deep,” said LeSoul.
