HE shot to fame when he was still a member of Afro house group Shana, together with Shota and Black Coffee.

After Shana, Demor Sikhosana has been working behind the scenes producing hits for popular artists under his record label Demor Music.

He told SunBuzz that he’s working on his Afro house album due for release soon.

The music guru, whose real name is Thandukwazi Sikhosana (47), from Mooi River in KZN Midlands, said he’s been in the music industry for a long time.

“I first released my Afro-house debut solo album The Real Me in 2013 which did well,” Demor told the People’s Paper.

“In 2016, I released my single track, Cliche, and have been working with other artists, including DJ Tira, Nqubeko Mbatha, Zakes Bantwini and Bucie.

“Music runs through my veins and I believe there’s more coming, big things are still going to happen.”

Demor said seeing the former Shana member Black Coffee being internationally respected makes him proud.

“I met Black Coffee and Shota at the Durban University of Technology when it was still known as the Technikon Natal. That was where Shana was born. I’m happy that the three of us have grown in the music, are on our own bosses and do our successful solo projects.”

Demor revealed that he has been giving back to the community by helping the youth understand the music industry.

“I’ve been organising music workshops which I do once a year. That helps aspiring musicians get more information about the industry. I also organise the Mooi River Music and Art Festival, where local artists also get the platform to showcase their projects.”
