NAY Maps has joined the cast of e.tv soapie Imbewu: The Seed.
He is taking over the role of Zenzele Maphumulo, which was initially played by Mlungisi Shabalala.
Nay told Daily Sun Zenzele was back for revenge.
“Zenzele is going to be doing what he wants because he’s the only Maphumulo left in the world of Imbewu. He has come back to avenge his family. He’s on a journey to find out who was involved in the assassination of his dad and brother,” he said.
Nay said his character would be spilling a lot of blood.
“People can expect a different Zenzele, not the one who left to go overseas. He’s now a grown man who will do whatever he sees fit because he feels he doesn’t owe anyone anything,” he said.
“He has already made his debut and has made quite a hectic entry. He has just come back and he’s already killing people. It will be exciting.”
Nay said it was his first time on screen in months and he was glad to be back on a set.
“I had been off for about nine months because I lost my dad. That’s why I disappeared from The Queen. I had to focus on my family.
“I gained the strength to get back into acting three months ago. Being back on set feels good because I know my dad would want me to continue,” he said.
“A lot is coming from me. I’ve been filming with a lot of productions. I just finished filming two new international Netflix movies.”
Nay said he wanted to use every opportunity he got to motivate people to be kinder to each other.
“The past year has been difficult and I hope people can put their time and energy into what they really desire for themselves.
“At the rate people are dying, I urge every person to see that it’s important to do what you love and do it with your whole heart.”
