AFTER much speculation that Big Brother Mzansi is coming back, M-Net and MultiChoice have confirmed that the much-loved reality show is coming back for another season.

Although not much has been shared about the new season of the show, M-Net has revealed that the new season will be action-packed.

“Just in time to heat up summer. MultiChoice Group and Banijay Group are pleased to announce that the much-loved Big Brother Mzansi will be making its highly anticipated return to your screens soon, and it promises to be as exciting, entertaining, and action-packed as ever,” they revealed in a statement.

Big Brother Mzansi is one of 69 adaptations of the Big Brother format worldwide, and this year marks 20 years since the first ever Big Brother South Africa.

M-Net has not yet announced when the show will premiere. According to them, more details surrounding the show will be shared soon.

Shortly after the news broke people weighed in and said they hope they choose ordinary people to be part of the show.

“I hope they will pick ordinary people. Ntombi noAce were very entertaining. They were just ordinary people who couldn’t even speak proper English, but they gave that house life,” Zama said.

While Thobile Mametja shared the same sentiment as Zama, and said: “I hope Big Brother Mzansi doesn’t bring us celebrities, famous TikTokers & famous social media influencers. They already have the platform. We want to see people who didn’t make it in life, people who are starting from scratch. People that we don’t know.”

Over the years, the reality show, which was initially a Dutch reality TV competition franchise created by John de Mol with its first episode broadcast in the Netherlands in 1999, has launched the careers of many people in Mzansi including Mandla and Lexi, who have gone on to have their own reality shows.
