THE Basha Uhuru Creative Uprising is back and this year, the popular festival will be headlined by Mzansi’s finest artists the likes of Sun-El Musician and Langa Mavuso.
The event that brings art, music, film, design, dance, theatre and poetry will take place at Constitutional Hill through a three-day programme, to be streamed live.
Constitution Hill CEO, Dawn Robertson, said they were proud of how the festival had grown, despite the challenges the event industry faced in the past year.
The festival will be fired up by its sponsor Nando’s.
In a statement, Kirsty Niehaus, who heads up the Nando’s art initiative, said they were excited about the event.

“Creativity is the heart and soul of the Nando’s brand and business philosophy, which is why we’re excited to once again bring the heat to Joburg’s favourite creative event.
We’re excited to fire up Mzansi’s up-and-coming new art, design, music talent, as well as nurture and showcase local creativity,” she said.
The main festival takes place from 28 to 30 October.
Other popular acts will include Ms Party, MX Blouse, Sio, Marcus Harvey, Easy Freak, Fif_Laaa and Thando Nje.
