Gqom’s leading lady and reality TV star Babes Wodumo is excited as she’s set to host her first concert.
The singer known for hits such as Wololo, Gandaganda and eLamonti will be hosting A Night In Concert on 3 December at the Durban Amphitheatre in North Beach, KZN.
Babes spoke to SunBuzz and said the concert was inspired by her not performing much because of the lockdown.
“Firstly, I’m excited because this is the first time I get to host my own show. Secondly, what’s important for me right now is to reconnect with people who love Babes and her music, and all the music lovers. I cannot wait to get onto that stage and perform for my fans. This is an event that I want to mark as the festive season’s party starter in KZN,” said Babes.
The singer said A Night In Concert will be more than just a concert and she’ll invite some of her friends to perform.
“For now, I can mention my brothers, Sjava, SJ Lag and Que. It will be a night of great performances,” she said.

Babes said she will perform some of her old hits and new songs she has recorded.
“I was in studio with some great musicians for features. I am more excited about a single I’m about to drop with Diplo. It’s coming out soon,” she said.
The star was performing in Kenya last month and is going back for another gig on 18 December. She’s also dropping an EP soon. Babes said 2022 will be the year of Babes Wodumo.
“I’m in studio working on an EP that’s set to drop in a few months. I’m finalising the project and it will have some exciting surprises. The year 2022 will be my year. People should expect a lot from me,” said Babes.
General tickets for A Night In Concert cost R200 and VIP is R400. They are available at Webtickets.
