FORMER Generations actress Sindisiwe “Sindi” Buthelezi has died.

The death of Sindi, who made her mark playing Zinhle Mathe on the popular soapie, sent shock waves across the country as she was only 32.

Speaking to Daily Sun, her sister Nonhlanhla Sikhakhane said the family was still coming to terms with the tragedy.

“Although she had been sick for about three weeks after finding out she had diabetes, we were not expecting this as a family. It has been a very difficult time for us and we thank everyone who has been sending messages of condolences. We appreciate it,” she said.

Nonhlanhla described her sister as an outgoing person. “She was bubbly and caring, someone who loved to joke around,” she said.

“She was an amazing person, always cheerful. She was caring and outspoken. Even off camera, she would be bubbly and make us laugh. This is a great loss,” he said.

“It was the last thing I expected to hear. She was talented, loving and caring. My deepest condolences to her family.”
