THE past few weeks have been difficult for actress and TV presenter Simphiwe “Simz” Ngema.

She has shared that she had a lot on her plate – including planning a funeral, attending rehearsals and preparing for the launch of her new song.

To get over the hectic weeks she described as mentally, physically and emotionally draining, the former Muvhango actress penned a heartfelt appreciation letter to herself.

“It’s been a difficult couple of weeks, mentally, physically and emotionally. Today, you finally took some time to reflect on everything that has happened, and I want to say to you, well done. You thrive even during the most difficult times,” she wrote.

“The past few weeks have been overwhelming. You’ve had to plan a funeral, go to rehearsals and performances, launch a song, meet deadlines for campaigns, be a mother and show up for your grieving family while dealing with your own grief. I honestly don’t know how you did it. I’m in awe of the woman you are.”

Concluding the letter, Simz encouraged herself to further chase her dreams and not give up on them.

“Today was about taking a deep breath and reminding yourself that you are amazing, and doing well. I love you Quing Simz. Keep chasing those dreams and winning. You are a conqueror.”
