Look out for YFM breakfast show host Kandis Kardashian on your small screens as she wants to give acting a try.
The radio presenter, whose real name is Candice Coulsen, has tried radio and TV presenting, and now she wants to go into acting.
Kandis said she worked hard to move from working in the corporate space to being a radio presenter and now she is willing to work hard to be an actor.
Speaking to SunBuzz, the 26-year-old from Centurion, Tshwane, said: “I have gone to a lot of auditions and I still haven’t been lucky, but I will not give up.
“I want to be an actress. The first show I want to be in is SABC’s 7de Laan. I will not give up until I am on that show.”
Kandis, who finished a degree in public management at the University of Pretoria in 2016, said she always knew the entertainment space was for her.
“My interest in the entertainment industry started at university, but I didn’t pursue it then. After school, I went to work in corporate and I hated every minute of it. I just couldn’t take it. And people would always tell me that I should be in radio. I finally got a job at Cliff Central and I was happy for the first time in a while,” she said.
Speaking about her TV presenting experience, she said: “In 2018, I got into TV presenting at Voov TV.
“I used to go to one of the producers of the channel and would hound him everyday, asking for a TV presenting job.
“He finally agreed and let me host a live show. It was a great experience as I got to learn how to handle a live audience.”
Kandis hosts the YFM breakfast show with DJ Ankle Tap from 5am to 9am.
