Borussia Dortmund defeated Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 on aggregate to book their spot in the UEFA Champions League final on Tuesday evening.

The unfortunate injury of Lucas Hernandez allowed a start for Beraldo from the first-leg with Goncalo Ramos in for Bradley Barcola, whilst Dortmund remained unchanged from last week in Dortmund.

Dortmund looked to double the overall lead a few minutes in off a half-volley from a tight angle by Julian Ryerson after Niclas Fullkrug’s assist, but hit the side-netting.

The host didn’t rush matters but showed composure on and off the ball before having Vitinha slam well over through an ambitious long-range drive on the half-hour mark.

Following a tense start, the match looked to open up where at one end a timeous interception from Mats Hummels prevented Kylian Mbappe a half-volley from close-range.

And then a burst of speed from the Black and Yellow brought Karim Adeyemi in the box and on strike only for Gianluigi Donnarumma to narrow him.

PSG were unfortunate not to go ahead a minute in the second stanza after Warren Zaire-Emery’s first-time volley from close-range hit the upright following Ramos’ flick on.

It cost them immensely as the Bundesliga giants went ahead four minutes later when Hummels rose unmarked in the box and was able to head in a corner from Julian Brandt.

The Ligue 1 champions were denied a response once more as Nuno Mendes’ fierce effort from afar bounced off the upright and back into play.

Dortmund still battled to contain the French giants, who continued on the tack though failed to penetrate the low defensive block from Luis Enrique’s charges.

Mbappe was inches from the leveller five minutes from time where he applied a snap shot from close-range only to be denied by the woodwork.

The frustration continued in the last minute as a powerful drive from Vitinha hit the underside of the crossbar with Gregor Kobel rooted.

Dortmund overcame everything thrown their way and booked a spot in the final against either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich who meet in the other semi-final on Wednesday.
