6 SUMMER BEAUTY RULES

Before you head out to enjoy the warm weather, follow these beauty rules so you stay gorgeous throughout summer.

COVER UP

Regular swims and humidity will affect your smooth hair edges, making them dry, frizzy and brittle. Protect your edges with a stylish satin scarf to retain moisture. Continue to moisturise them even when they are covered up with a weave or wig.

STAY GLOSSY

Nothing stops you from looking uber glossy while you’re sitting by the pool. Don’t just stick to pink shades – play with other hot colours like yellow, green and purple. The key to achieving this sultry eye is lip gloss. Sweep the colour over your eye then use your finger to dap lip gloss over the colour. It’s so runway!

POPPING POUT

Dreamy weather, coastal locations and bright lip colour go hand in hand. We are by no means restricting to bright lip colours only, just be bold and let your lip the centre of attraction. Matte textures are usually your best bet because they last longer but we’re saying throw caution to the wind and go super glossy.

LASH OUT

Coloured mascara is back by popular demand so as you pack for your vacay, swap your black mascara for a coloured wand. Blues and purples are generally easy to find plus they look great on brown eyes. Use it on both top and bottom lashes. Make them stand out even more by coupling the mascara with a matching eyeliner.

COOL EYES

Build an arsenal of fun coloured waterproof eyeliners. A tinted moisturiser, tamed brow and coloured liner will be just enough for you to take beautiful selfies. Remember to choose waterproof pencils so that the colour stays in place all day.

TOP NOTCH

The last you need when you’re on holiday is hair in your face, as this could lead to breakouts. If you have long enough hair, put it up in a top knot or pony. If your hair isn’t long enough have it braided so that it allows you to tie up and away from your face.
