THE countdown has begun!

This year’s search for the SunBabe of the Year is coming to an end. After a 366-day search, the list of ladies is down to 12 names.

And the winner of this beauty pageant will be crowned on 1 December, in a glittering ceremony to be held at the swanky Meat Lounge in Sunninghill, Joburg.

The MC for the night will be radio megastar Tbo Touch, the brains behind the #DataMustFall campaign.

Last week Touch secured a deal with MTN for their subscribers to listen to his radio station Touch Central – mahala!

Guests of honour will be entertained by award-winning artists. These include Nathi and Vusi Mova from Muthaland, as well as Master of the Kick Dr Malinga, Dbn Nyts and the incomparable Winnie Khumalo.

The question on every Sunday Sun reader’s lips is: Who will be the last girl standing?

But this question can only be answered by yourselves, dear readers! As the beauty contest nears its final days, the People’s Paper urges each reader to vote for the girl of her or his choice.

She must be the girl voters think can best carry off the task of representing the Sunday Sun brand. And we need your help in deciding which young lady is going to carry off the main prize!

The voting line opens today and closes at 12 noon on 30 November.

The 12 gorgeous ladies have triumphed over extremely stiff competition to defeat all their rivals – month by month, since the beginning of the year.

When the winner of the competition is chosen, she will win great prizes. Apart from the crown, the 2016 SunBabe of the Year will walk away with an all-expenses-paid trip to New York, courtesy of Black Opal. This trip includes entertainment in New York.

The winner will also become doubly famous as: The Face Of Black Opal 2016. She will attend an internal modelling workshop, a once-off hair make-over plus three months of styling, courtesy of Melford Divas.

To cap it all, the excited SunBabe of the Year 2016 winner will be presented with a gorgeous cheque for R20 000, courtesy of your favourite weekend read, Sunday Sun.
