FORMER Generations actor Thami Mngqolo is said to have suffered loss at the hands of thugs.
This after tsotsis allegedly broke into his house and stole valuable items, including a PlayStation, at his Westdene house, north of Jozi.
Sunday Sun sources say the burglary was discovered by his helper, who alerted the star earlier this month.
But the actor, popular for playing Senzo on the SABC1 soapie, has since allegedly opened a housebreaking and theft case at the Sophiatown cop shop.
Police spokesperson Lungelo Dlamini confirmed the incident, saying: “No arrests have been made as yet, but we are investigating the case.”
A “very surprised” Thami is said to have told police that all doors to the house were locked and windows closed when he left for work.
The police statement reads, in part: “The complainant left for work with everything in order, all the windows securely closed and all doors locked. He left his house keeper in the house.
“According to her (the helper), she heard a loud bang and breaking of glass, which woke her up.
“She then went to see what was going on and realised that valuable items estimated at R6 000 were stolen from the house.”
The actor allegedly told police that the thugs also stole his DVDs, CDs and a computer hard drive.
When the SunTeam contacted Thami for comment, he said: “I’d rather not comment about that for my own safety, but I’ll be moving from that place.”
