RAPPING FOR KASI & BURBS
ShotGun blends vernac and English in his music.  ~

HIP HOP sensation ShotGun is set to take Mzansi’s music scene by storm.

This as the rapper’s latest single, Dikhomo, is doing serious damage on the airwaves.

And the 32-year-old (real name Itumeleng Mosadi) from Tembisa, Ekurhuleni, says the best is yet to come.

This as he’s billed to perform at the Rock Da Shades event at Dries Niemandt Precinct in Ekurhuleni next month.

Following this outing, he’s set to share the stage with US rap group Migos in October.

Speaking to SunBuzz, ShotGun said his passion for music knew no bounds.

Said ShotGun: “I’m a creative person, and this is evident in my single. There, I blend ‘vernac’ and English to relate to my peeps from ekasi and the ‘burbs’.

“ I’m musically-inclined and versatile, and always ensure I give my fans something to be motivated by in my bars.”

About his journey into showbiz, ShotGun said he was discovered by former TS Records boss, TK Nciza, early this year.

TK, married to Mafikizolo band member Nhanhla Nciza, then found him a home at one of the biggest record labels in Mzansi, Mabala Noise

“Early this year, I resigned from my 9-to-5 job to follow my music passion, ShotGun said.

“But I’m no stranger to the music industry , as I worked in retail radio among local greats, including HHP and Brickz, to name a few.”

And last year was great for ShotGun, who’s featured in the 2016 South African Hip Hop Awards’ Corner Cypher segment where he showcased his lyrical skills on the mic.
