THE oh-so-glam premier fashion designer David Tlale’s rumoured dirty laundry is allegedly less than flattering.
This as the local A-lister’s debts have been creeping out of the closet, insiders say.
According to the rumour mill, David owes TV presenter and chef, Lorna Maseko, a whopping R100 000.
The amount is said to have stemmed from the catering services Lorna rendered for David’s SABC3 TV reality show, The Intern.
The first source claimed Lorna, who recently opened a restaurant, was frustrated that she hadn’t been paid.
Said the mole: “It’s bad. Shame, Lorna doesn’t even know what to do. Worse still, she might not get her money, as David was in the news recently for failing to pay some people on his production team.”
The source insisted Lorna had been trying to reach David and his team regarding the matter, “but all her efforts have been fruitless”.
Another insider said Lorna had been understanding and patient with David.
“But she’s slowly reaching boiling point,” the mole said.
“Staff needs to be paid.”
A third source said: “David has been waiting for payment from the channel, his hands are tied. There’s nothing he can do until he gets paid.”
But a third source claimed he’d already been paid, so the other service providers were taking him to their lawyers.
Lorna refused to comment on the matter.
David was not available for comment. He also failed to respond to our SMSes.
SABC’s Kaizer Kganyago also refused to comment, saying public broadcaster was not involved in the issue.
