RED, yellow, blue – the new VW Citi Vivo is here for you!
Volkswagen fans will be ecstatic about the news that it is reviving the Citi! The new Citi Vivo is paying homage to the legendary Citi Golf by making it as funky as possible!
The carmaker has just launched a limited edition Citi Vivo, which is available in the three iconic colours – red, yellow or blue – which were used to launch the original Citi Golf in 1984.
Production of the Citi ended in 2009 after 25 years and over 377 000 units were sold – many of which are still on the road!
To fill the Citi Golf gap, VW introduced the Polo Vivo in 2010 as its budget offering and to date, VW has sold 229 300 units!
So, there is no better way to celebrate the success of the Polo Vivo as the best-selling passenger car in South Africa than to pay homage to its iconic predecessor.
For now, VW is planning to build only 2 000 Citi Vivos and it is based on the existing Conceptline version. It comes with a 1,4-litre petrol engine and other standard features include ABS brakes, driver and passenger airbags, alarm-electronic immobiliser, a central locking system with key remote, air conditioning, power steering and a sound system with a Bluetooth connection.
In addition to these features of the Conceptline model, the Citi Vivo gets a snazzy 15-inch alloy wheels painted in white, side mirrors painted in white, door and tailgate handles in white and Citi decals. This helps to give the Citi Vivo a stunning retro look!
Optional features offered on Citi Vivo include cruise control, an ultrasonic alarm system, front electric windows and front fog lights.
Yes, the South African motoring landscape just got a lot more colourful! Thank you, Volkswagen!
