The Peugeot 2008 compact crossover has been around since 2013, which means that it was time for a few changes!
The refreshed 2008 is now ready to step back into the same competitive market where the Nissan Juke and Ford EcoSport fight it out. Its basic profile – with its roofline, pronounced rear and angled windscreen – remains recognisable, but there have been big changes to the front and exterior.
The interior also has been upgraded and equipment levels have been improved. In its latest version, the 2008 offers more in its range of standard convenience and safety features and a highlight is its new seven-inch colour touchscreen display.
Peugeot also introduced the GT Line trim above the Active and Allure packages. The result is that there are four versions with two engine options and one with two gearbox choices.
All three trim levels – the Active, Allure and GT Line – have upmarket finishes and materials. Cloth upholstery is standard on the Active model, while the Allure and GT Line get half-leather seats.
The interior has a generous 410-litre luggage compartment, which can be extended to 1 400 litres by folding the split-rear bench flat.
Standard safety features include six airbags, ABS with electronic brake assist, as well as the electronic stability programme.
The two engine options are Peugeot’s 1,6-litre, four-cylinder HDi turbodiesel engine and PureTech 1,2-litre, three-cylinder turbopetrol unit.
The turbodiesel is fitted with a five-speed manual gearbox only and it’s always front-wheel drive.
The three-cylinder PureTech can be fitted with with the manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic.
All 2008 models have a three-year/100 000 km warranty and a three-year/45 000 km service plan.
