Honda is boosting its South African line-up with an updated Ballade.
Honda’s compact four-door sedan, which joins forces with the popular Jazz to battle it out in the compact market, has a daring design with an eye-catching grille and more pointed headlights.
All Ballade models now come with daytime running lights, while the top of the range Executive model also has full LED headlights. Some other design improvements include new front and rear bumpers front as well as new wheel designs.
The interior layout and dashboard design is basically unchanged but Honda has improved overall fit and finish with some new surface materials and trims. The result is a classier cabin with a more premium look and feel.
Powering the Ballade is a single-cam normally-aspirated 1,5-litre i-Vtec engine that is fitted with either a five-speed manual or CVT automatic gearbox.
Like before the Ballade is available in three trim levels: the Trend, Elegance and Executive. The Trend and Elegance models come with manual or CVT gearboxes, while the Executive version is only CVT.
All Ballades have standard features such as air-conditioning, electric windows, remote central locking, sound system with a Bluetooth connection, six airbags, ABS and hill-start assist and vehicle stability assist.
The Elegance version also gets a 17,8cm touchscreen display with reverse camera, leather-covered multi-function steering wheel – with reach adjustment – cruise control, powered and folding exterior mirrors and alloy wheels. The Executive gets leather seats, automatic climate control and keyless start.
The Ballade comes with a five-year/200 000km warranty and four-year/60 000km service plan.
