THE 2018 might still be quite a couple of months away, but Mercedes has decided to give a sneak peak of one of the most exciting cars to be launched next year!
The German carmaker has just previewed a concept version of the sizzling A-Class sedan, which is due to go into production next year.
It will slot in below the popular C-Class sedan and its main rival will be the Audi A3 sedan.
With a striking design, the concept looks almost production-ready and most of its styling cues will make it to the production model too.
Off course it also shows what to expect of the next A-Class hatchback, which is currently one of the best-selling Mercs on the market.
The A-Class sedan isn’t replacing the current CLA as it will continue production too, which means the A Class line-up will consist of a hatch, sedan, four-door coupé and a crossover.
The Concept A Sedan (length/width/height: 4 570/1 870/ 1 462 mm) has been designed with the proportions of a dynamic coupé and is a compact, premium sedan. This aim is emphasised by the traditional three-box design featuring short overhangs, especially at the rear.
Additional sedan characteristics are the relatively vertical C pillar, larger side windows and the higher beltline.
The overall design is quite muscular while the front-end is especially striking thanks to a deep grille tilted towards the front, featuring vertical chrome inserts and a star in the centre, as well as the stretched bonnet with Powerdomes.
The large, lower air inlet featuring a diamond grid structure and a striking trim strip in dark chrome is also among the most eye-catching features.
