A burning passion leads Lerato Naare to ride every day of his life.
Whether it’s going to work, or visiting friends or family, on a motorcycle is the only way Lerato wants to do it.
Well known at his club by his nickname, Lavino, the 28-year-old bike junky from Sebokeng Zone 14 in the Vaal, south of Joburg, said his bike was his first love.
Q: When did you start biking?
A: I started riding on 2015.
Q: How was your first day of biking?
A: My first day was a bit scary and overwhelming, but nothing beats the adrenaline rush of riding a bike for the first time.
I really enjoyed it and in that moment, I realised that I would be riding for as long as I live.
Q: Can you tell us about your first bike?
A: It’s a Honda CBR 600cc.
Q: What type of bike do you currently own?
A: I still own and ride that same Honda.
Q: Why did you buy it?
A: I bought it for the love of the adrenaline and the love of biking.
Q: What colour is your bike?
A: My bike is black and white.
Q: Have you received any traffic fines?
A: No, I don’t have any.
Q: How often do you ride a week?
A: I ride every day, to and from work. It is my daily transport.
Q: Do you have a licence for your bike?
A: Yes I am licensed to ride.
Q: Tell us about your outfit.
A: I’m very cautious when it comes to safety gear. I normally wear my riding suit or riding pants and jacket – even when it’s hot.
Q: Have you customised it in any way?
A: No, not yet.
Q: How far have you ridden your bike?
A: The longest distance I have ridden was to Swaziland for a rally.
It was an amazing journey and a profound experience for me.
Q: What do you love most about your bike?
A: What I love most is that it never lets me down. It takes me where I want to go no matter the destination, but it’s also easy to handle when I do burn outs.
It’s the best possession that I have ever owned.
Q: Do you belong to a club?
A: Yes, the Mahata Mmoho MCC. The lifestyle is just so awesome.
