MEET a man who says other people can learn a thing or two from his driving skills.
Kutso Lehoko, from Vanderbijlpark in the Vaal triangle, said too many drivers think they have special permission to break the rules and end up causing deadly accidents.
“I never drive at high speeds. I always drive at the speed limit,” he said.
Q: What car do you drive?
A: I drive a 2014 Audi A4.
Q: When did you buy it?
A: In 2014.
Q: Is it your first car?
A: No, this is my second. I first drove a 2009 Audi A4 1,8t that I traded in for this one.
Q: Why do you like this car?
A: It is big, comfortable and suits me as a tall guy. It uses less fuel, is easy to drive and smooth on the controls – everything I need from a car.
Q: Is it your dream car?
A: Yes, it is my dream car.
Q: What features do you like?
A: It’s got comfortable seats, electric windows, a sun roof, airbags and air conditioning. It’s a full house. Also the gears are easy so I don’t struggle to change them and the pedals respond well, which makes driving easier.
Q: Have you taken any long trips?
A: Yes, I’ve driven to Qwa Qwa, Newcastle, Durban and Bloemfontein.
Q: Would you change anything?
A: No, I don’t want to change anything. I love it as it is.
Q: Tell us why you chose metallic grey?
A: I wanted it in blue, as it is my favourite colour – it symbolises a person who loves his family – but that wasn’t available so I opted for this one.
Q: How often do you get traffic fines?
A: I don’t have any tickets.
Q: Who else can drive your car?
A: Only my wife Mamorena because she is a good driver.
Q: What do you think of other drivers?
A: Reckless drivers worry me. You don’t know whether you will make it to your destination safely or not because of the way they drive.
I think people need to be reminded that you are not driving one car when on the road. You are driving three, sometimes four cars, depending on how many there are around you!
