FAIR Price Furniture made the dreams of some people in SunLand come true before Christmas last year.
Three SunPeople won different big prizes from the popular store in a competition that started in October, when people had to buy something from the store.
One of the winners was Charity Mohlala (31) from Springs, who walked away with a brand new VW Polo Vivo.
The nurse told SunShopper she always used to be late for work because she relied on taxis to get to work.
“Now I’ll make sure I get to work on time because when one works with people’s lives, one has to always be on time.”
The other two finalists, Nosipho Nzoyi and Sarah Mahlake, both won a fridge and plasma TV each, as consolation prizes.
All three of them were handed a key and had to try to open the car, but only one key opened the door and it was Charity who took the car home.
Now Nosipho has two fridges.
“This fridge is a bonus. I bought a fridge from them a few months ago and now I have another one,” said Nosipho, with a big smile on her face.
“At first I was stressed, but was told that even if I didn’t win the car there’d be a consolation prize for me, so I’m still happy.”
Mohamed Moolla, marketing executive at Fair Price, said their partnership with Samsung South Africa has been good and customers that bought any of their Samsung items in stores nationwide – either by cash or through lay-bys – were automatically drawn in the competition to win the car and other prizes.
Over 2 680 entries were recorded, but only one person could win the car.
