WITH the demand for the Tucson skyrocketing, Hyundai is expanding the line-up further with the attractive Tucson 1,6 TGDI Executive Sport.
Its eye-catching body skirts, black 19-inch wheels and bold exhaust pipes also come with the top-of-the-range all-wheel-drive.
Since the launch of the Tucson Sport with the Executive trim in June, Hyundai said that customers indicated that there is a definite appetite for the bold and beautiful looks.
The Korean carmaker said they have sold more than 50 the new Tucson Executive Sports in July, a month after its launch.
This is the reason they decided to give the same body kit and engine power upgrade to the range-topping automatic model.
This new version of Hyundai’s popular SUV model is known as the Tucson 1,6 TGDI Elite Sport AWD. It is powered by a turbocharged 1,6-litre petrol engine fitted with a dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
It also boasts the features found in the Elite, including a big sun roof and a host of convenience, safety and luxury items that come with its R599 900 price tag.
The body kit with its front, rear and side skirts come from Korea. The alloy wheels were chosen with Tiger Wheel and Tyre. Hyundai Automotive SA also added four chrome exhaust pipes at the rear that gives a sporty growl to this Tucson.
Standard features include an 8-inch screen infotainment system with satellite navigation, a Bluetooth connection and music streaming.
Other features include cruise control, rain sensors for the automatic windscreen wipers, an automatic air conditioning system, electrically adjusted leather seats and multifunction controls on the steering wheel.
The Tucson 1,6 TGDI Elite Sport AWD costs R599 900. That includes Hyundai’s industry-leading seven-year/200 000km warranty and a five-year/90 000km service plan.
